Former Ball State football player Robert Eddins was found dead in Detroit, Michigan, Tuesday night, according to reports from WXYZ 7 Action News.
Officials said the bodies of two men were found in the basement of a home on the city's west side. Both men had been shot multiple times.
Family members identified one of the men as Eddins, a 28-year-old former defensive end at Ball State. Born in Detroit, Eddins played for the Cardinals from 2006-2010.
He was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, Eddins went on to play one game in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills.
The other victim has been identified as Ricky McFarlin, and the investigation is ongoing.
