Seven signs you're a dietetics major

You know you're a dietetics major when...

"You get asked, 'How do I lose weight?'" – Emily Strattman, senior

Your family bombards you with questions, especially during the holidays. They are constantly telling you about their new diets, or how they have been losing weight.

“We are Type A personality to a T.” – Katie Maclin, senior

In a competitive field, dietetics majors are generally very organized and like explanations of "why" behind the material they're learning.

”You never skip breakfast. Or any meal, for that matter.” – Sophia Miller, senior

And you don't go a day, or maybe even a meal, without eating at least one vegetable and one fruit. And you are always thinking about what you are going to eat for the next meal.

“You love to cook for your friends.” – Miller, senior

Trying new and healthy recipes is a highlight for dietetics majors, and most of their friends don't mind it either.

“Some food that you eat is considered abnormal by other students.” – Maclin, senior

Like quinoa, barley, flaxseed, chia seeds and kefir.

“People want us to tell them how to eat right.” – Kelsey Griffin, senior

Nutrition varies by each individual. When a non-dietetics major eats with a dietetics major, they try to eat healthier to impress. Or they rationalize why they are eating something unhealthy, when the dietetics major never commented or asked.

“Believe it or not, just about all of us still love our cookies, cake and any other sweets.” – Griffin, senior

Everyone’s got a sweet tooth, even a dietetics major.
