If you’re driving down University Avenue past the LA Pittenger Student Center and Ball Memorial Hospital, you’ll find the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass.
This building opened in September of 2010 to promote the practice of contemporary glass arts at Ball State University and in the East Central Indiana Region.
Students have been able to make glass dishes, vases, sculptures and more since its opening 6 years ago, but now students will have the opportunity to make something quite unique.
That is because Ball State is going to continue offering ACR 331. This course is Special Topics in glass, and is currently oriented toward creating neon signs.
Although many colleges offer glass-making to students, Ball State is one of only two colleges in the United States to offer students a class in neon sign making.
Students who wish to take this course must first take the prerequisites of ACR 231: Introduction to Glass or ACR 233: Kiln Sculpted Glass.
