Men's volleyball to take on in-state rival IPFW

In the last game between the two schools on Feb. 11, the Cardinals (15-5, 8-1 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) swept IPFW (5-12, 0-7 MIVA) in three sets.

In the win, junior outside attacker Mike Scannell led the Cardinals with 10 kills. Sophomore outside attacker Mitch Weiler had eight, followed by senior outside attacker Martin Niemczewski with six. As a unit, Ball State finished with four and a half blocks.

While the Mastodons may be lacking in the win column, a number of players find their names high on the conference statistics sheet. Senior IPFW outside attacker Andrew Sellan leads the MIVA with 4.36 kills per set, and senior libero Luis Bertran leads the MIVA in digs per set with 2.72.

The Cardinals and Mastodons are at opposite ends of the MIVA standings. Ball State sits in second place with an 8-1 record only behind No. 4 Ohio State (9-1). The Mastodons are in last place with a 0-7 record.

Ball State has the advantage over the Mastodons with a 67-29 all time record. The match starts at 7 p.m.
