Men's volleyball hosts Quincy, Lindenwood

The Cardinals (11-3, 5-0 MIVA) are the only remaining MIVA school with an undefeated conference record.

Quincy and Lindenwood have a combined conference record of 2-10, but these records may be deceiving.

Quincy finds themselves high in the standings in the kills category with Jarrod Kelso, who ranks fifth in the MIVA in total kills with 155. Not far behind in sixth place is his teammate Chris Chappelle, who has racked up 142 kills thus far.

Chappelle also ranks fifth in the MIVA in total digs with 93, but Ball State freshman libero Adam Wessel has been taking care of that category for the Cardinals with 2.47 digs per sets, putting him at third in the MIVA in that category.

Lindenwood’s offense is led by Ryan Moore and Jake Duckworth, who rank third and fourth in the MIVA in kills per set. Moore’s 3.58 and Duckworth’s 3.52 both fall higher than Ball State’s leader in kills per set, junior outside attacker Brendan Surane, who has 2.98 kills per set.

Last season, Ball State went 4-0 against the two schools. Overall, the Cardinals have only lost a collective six matches against the two teams. Lindenwood has never defeated Ball State at Worthen Arena.

Both matches this week will be at 7:30 p.m. at Worthen Arena.
