Fontaine earned the honor after scoring 20.0 points per game and hauling in 11.5 rebounds per game over the last week.
She scored 18 points in the Cardinals’ come-from-behind victory at Buffalo, 59-57. Sixteen of those points came in the second half to help Ball State overcome a 14-point third quarter deficit.
On the season, Fontaine scores 20.8 points per game, the second highest mark in the MAC and 19th best in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
She is also 35th in the NCAA and third in the MAC with 9.8 rebounds per game, and her 52.3 percent clip from the field is the fifth best shooting percentage in the conference.
Fontaine is currently the only MAC player in top 5 in all three categories.
