The University Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Neely and McKinley Avenue after a crash around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9.
Zoology major Ross Morgan said he was turning when he spotted a student walking across the crosswalk who didn’t see Morgan. When he saw the student, Morgan said he slammed on his brakes and the car behind him, which Morgan assumed slid on the snow, did not stop in time and hit Morgan’s tail light. At first, Morgan did not realize what had happened and kept driving.
“At first, I was kinda just wondering what happened and then I heard my muffler dragging and I saw all the shattered glass back on the intersection so I realized I had gotten hit,” Morgan said.
They called UPD to have them fill out a crash report.
All parties were uninjured, and Nye’s Wrecker Service was called to tow away the car.
