Ball State students have braved the cold for the past three years at the start of spring semester.

This semester was no different, with Delaware county under a travel advisory on Tuesday and Muncie under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service.

The travel advisory is because of poor road conditions. Travel may be restricted, and citizens should use caution, according to the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency.

A travel advisory is the lowest level of advisory. Neighboring counties Madison, Blackford and Grant are also under advisories.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Muncie through 3 p.m. on Tuesday because of snow covered roads and blowing snow.

The NWS reported wind chills near and below zero on Tuesday.

In 2015, the start of the semester had a wind chill 20 to 30 degrees below zero. The windchill reached negative 28 degrees at the start of Spring 2014, and the first two days of class were canceled that semester.

Some Ball State students shared their feelings about and pictures of the winter weather.
