Just Cause 3 received wide criticism on its November 30 launch day due to multiple issues with its optimization and loading times. This is not the first time that this has happened with a triple A (AAA, meaning that it was produced by a major company with a big budget marketed to a large audience) game’s launch. Just this year, the same happened with both Black Ops III and Arkham Knight both on PC.
The game itself suffered from excessive loading times, bugs, and optimization problems. A representative from Square Enix had this to say about the game: “We need a little bit of time to recreate some of these issues and build fixes. Rest assured though – we are fully committed to making Just Cause 3 as awesome as possible.” Currently, the PC version reportedly runs better than its console counterparts.
It’s unfortunate that this trend is appearing in gaming, particularly in AAA games. With the last two years of less than stellar launches, hopefully developers and publishers will improve their quality assurance. The game is available on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
