For those who have always dreamed of getting into PC gaming but never had the know-how, Steam Machines have come to the rescue! Valve, the company responsible for Steam, the most common PC gaming platform, have been talking about the release of their own entry to the console market for some time. Now, those dreams become reality as the first wave of Steam Machines are available today.
Three companies have laid their hardware on the line: Alienware, Syber, and Zotac. While each one comes pre-packaged with Valve’s own custom controller, they all have different prices and operate at different levels of playing power (in terms of ability to handle more intense games). Valve has also celebrated the event with sales on some big-name titles like SOMA, The Witcher 2, Bioshock Infinite, and some of Valve’s own titles like Portal 2 and Half-Life 2.
As the success of these new machines and their effect on the console market remains to be seen, it’s sure that the their release will at least provides competition and hopefully creates a little spark to the market as it stands.
