The Kickstarter campaign for a next-generation game centering on the Friday the 13th franchise has ended, bringing in $823,704 from over 12,000 supporters. The campaign, which ironically ended on Friday the 13, passed its goal of $700,000 two days prior.
The game, currently going by the title of Friday the 13th: The Game, is being developed by Gun Media and Illfonic, and has Friday the 13th franchise creator Sean Cunningham’s full support.
In the game, one player will control deranged serial killer Jason Vorhees while seven others play camp counselors as they try to survive the night. While most of the campaign’s goals have been met, they are still needing $1.625 million for a single-player campaign mode.
For now, the game is slated for an October 2016 release and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
