What: Sir Deja Doog "Love Coffin" Album Release Celebration
When: 6:30 p.m., Oct. 30
Where: Village Green Records, 519 N. Martin St.
Indianapolis band Shipwreck Karpathos will split after the Halloween eve show, but Sir Deja Doog, a Bloomington, Ind.-based artist is celebrating the release of his new album "Love Coffin."
Doog performed the songs and produced them with help of "incredibly talented friends,” according to a Kickstarter page he created.
Eric Alexander is the mind behind Sir Deja Doog, or "The Lord of the Recurring Darkness," another moniker of Alexander's.
His latest work, "a crazy concept album," as VGR's Travis Harvey put it, is an embodiment of hallucinatory intrusions, recorded by a man with only his guitar in a dark room.
"The recording has an eerie ambience at times," the album's webpage said. "With quiet and clear harmonics, a creaking chair, unconventional singing and strange noises projecting from his skull."
After the show, Deja Doog plans to return to the studio to record a four-song EP, which he’s raising money for through his Kickstarter page, “The Return of Sir Deja Doog.”
Two additional acts will perform at the show including Robin Goodfellow (also known as Radio Cologne) and BYBYE.
The show is set to start at 6:30 p.m. at Village Green Records.
