Super Meat Boy's soundtrack acquires new artists

Although Super Meat Boy, the pioneering indie platformer coming out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on October 6, should be ready to go the acclaimed original soundtrack had to be replaced due to rights not being secured with the composer, Danny Baranowsky.

Tommy Refenes, a member of developer Team Meat said, "Now don't be too bummed because we had the opportunity to work with our favorite artists to re-score Super Meat Boy to celebrate its fifth anniversary...Their passion and love for the game can be heard in the work they put into making the game sound amazing. We're honored to have them on the team for this version of Super Meat Boy."

The team hired to reinvent the soundtrack of this indie game is quite a force to be reckoned with. Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans, also known as Ridiculon, created the entire soundtrack of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. They will be supplying tracks for most of Super Meat Boy. To make The Hospital and The Salt Factory worlds a little more eerie, David “Scattle” Scatliffe from the Hotline Miami team will be contributing. Finally, Laura Shigihara, composer of Plants vs. Zombies, is making a cutesy, joyous track to play in the background of the game’s most brutal levels in The Cotton Alley.
