Students participate in drunk driving simulation, raise awareness

Peer Health Educators sponsored an event for Alcohol Awareness Week where students operated golf carts while wearing drunk goggles.

Senior Colin Clayton explains what the experience was like for him.

"It was kind of fun and everything looked further than it actually was, thanks to the goggles," he said. "I can gladly say I've never been as drunk as the goggles made me."

Ball State UPD patrol officer Mike Lucas accompanied students as they participated. He explains how the typical experience pans out.

"It's about a 15-second course, people hit the cones and drive too fast. They almost hit Pruis Hall right here," he said.
