Josh Cooper, 34, a pastor at Bridge Community Church, says college is a pivotal time for students. Regardless of religion, he says it’s important for young people to keep an open mind and welcome new ideas. He says between the ages of 18 and 25, a lot of young people start to think differently and fully develop their frontal lobes which leads them to question things that otherwise used to make sense.
Embrace doubt, Cooper says. He knows it can be scary for young people not to have all the answers and question scriptures. As a young person himself, he can relate to the way Generation Y views religion.
