Rejoice, Souls fans! Your drought of sadistic punishment is soon to be over. Bandai-Namco has announced the release month for Dark Souls III. While those of us with PS4s are busy becoming the beast in Bloodborne, the rest of us are forced to wait until April 2016 for the next installment of this challenging franchise.
From what gameplay has been shown so far, it’s a combination of everything that a long-time Souls fan could ever want. The weapon moveset system is varied and dynamic, the enemies are strange amalgamations of body-parts thrown together, and most of all, the Estus Flask is more plentiful. The Flasks in Dark Souls II received a lot of flak because of the severe reduction in the amount of Estus you could carry at one time, so among these and other fan suggestions, it’s good to see the developers listening to player feedback.
Not to mention the game looks beautiful based on what the trailers present. The first gameplay trailer released showed astonishing bosses, and when put together with the music crashing in the background, it built the perfect, somber atmosphere.
