'Danganronpa 3' announced at TGS 2015, trailer released

Team Danganronpa just announced another sequel to their murder/mystery series today at the Tokyo Game Show; New Danganronpa v3 is now in development. It will be the fourth game in the franchise, following the first two Danganronpa games, and the 3rd-person spin-off Danganronpa: Another Episode.

The announcement was made during the Sony conference, where a trailer was also shown. Based on the trailer, Monokuma and Usami/Monomi will likely be returning characters, with Kurokuma and Shirokuma possibly returning from Another Episode.

The main Danganronpa series plays similarly to a visual novel. Players assume the role of a student trapped with their classmates, who are all forced into a Battle Royale-esque game of life and death, with the added fun of courtroom drama. Each chapter usually sees the cast trying to solve the murder of another student, ending with a class trial sequence where they decide who the murderer is.



There is no projected release date yet for New Danganronpa v3, but it will be launching on both PS Vita, and now PS4, a first for the previously PS Vita only series.
