Ball State men's basketball head coach James Whitford said the kids aren't the only ones who benefit.
"I think anytime players are working with young people, it's giving back to the community," Whitford said. "It's good for the young ones and good for the players."
He said that while his players and managers serve as role models for younger boys, "it's a win-win for everyone."
The camp divides age ranges for practice and play. Children also gather for a lunch and social break.
"We try to balance for experience and skill," Whitford said. "I think it's fun for kids but it's important to make this a teaching camp."
