After winning game one of the three-game series, the Ball State baseball team defeated Bowling Green in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader 6-1.
Ball State pitcher Scott Baker got off to a tough start in the first inning, allowing three hits and a run.
Baker settled down, however, on his way to a complete game. He allowed one more hit the rest of the game and no runs. Baker recorded five strikeouts and one walk.
In the fourth inning, the Cardinals broke through on the scoreboard to take a 3-1 lead.
Bowling Green pitcher P.J. Link walked the first four cardinal batters to step to the plate in the fourth inning. After a sacrifice fly from junior Scott Tyler, freshman Colin Brockhouse tripled to score Kennedy and Devarie.
Ball State also put up three runs in the eighth inning behind Tyler's home run. He finished 2-3 with four RBIs.
With the win, the Cardinals improved to 14-7 overall and 2-0 in Mid-American Conference play.
