The Ball State women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over Butler on the road March 17 to earn its seventh straight win overall.
The Cardinals improve to 9-2 on the season.
In singles play, Ball State won five out of six matches. At one singles, senior Courtney Wild defeated Kylie Haviland 6-1, 6-3. Senior Ashlyn Rang, sophomore Toni Ormond, sophomore Rosalinda Calderon and freshman Olivia Large also picked up wins.
Rang and Large won their matches in third set tiebreaks. Butler's Bailey Padgett earned the lone singles victory with a 7-6, 6-3 win over junior Courtney Earnest.
The Cardinals also won the doubles point by taking two of three matches.
Earnest and Calderon earned a 6-3 set win over Konstantina Adami and Haviland. Wild and junior Bethany Moore fell at No. 2 doubles, but Large and Ormond earned the win at No. 3.
Ball State will return to the court on March 21 against IPFW. The match in Fort Wayne, Ind. will begin at 2 p.m.
