With the Weather Channel forecasting a possibility of six inches of snow, busy college students should be celebrating instead of feeling obligated to complete mundane activities. Here’s a quick guide on what to do with this rare free time:
1Stop watching Netflix
2Bake cookies
Store-bought cookies are great, but home-baked cookies are amazing and worth every single calorie packed into their gooey goodness. Plus, nothing will keep the house warm and cozy like cookies baking in the oven.
3Do EVERYTHING on your to-do list
Fold the laundry, clean the room, apply for internships/jobs, call your mom, do homework: do it all. Being snowed-in is the perfect time to complete everything on your to-do list that you’ve claimed that limited hours in the day don’t allow for. Well, now you have that time.
4Work out
That's right, work out at home instead of the Recreation and Wellness Center. Sure, there probably isn’t a stationary bike at home, but there is a floor. The workouts are endless: push-ups, sit-ups, planks, burpees, lunges and so much more. A quick Google search for “home workouts” reveals about 54,800,000 results.
5Read a book
Hot cocoa, warm blankets, a good book. Enough said.
6Online shop
Don’t let snow-covered roads stop you from shopping. Open up the computer and let your fingers take you to your favorite online shopping source. Happiness is just a click away.
7Go outside
In a winter wonderland there are mountains to explore, plus many other outdoor activities such as sledding, snowball fights, snow angels and snowboarding. Go outside and just embrace the beauty around you. Sure, the snow is inconvenient and cold, but it also creates the opportunity for adventure.
