SGA vice presidential candidate dismissed from senate

A candidate from a Student Government Association executive slate has been removed from the student senate.

Vice presidential candidate for Momentum Robiyabonu Dustova was removed from the SGA Senate after three unexcused absences at the weekly senate meetings.

Dustova served as a senator for the at-large caucus and the academic affairs committee.

On Friday afternoon, Dustova met with some of current slate executives to discuss the matter.

“As of this afternoon I still stand by my decision,” Secretary Rahissa Engle said. “She understands that.”

Engle said she encouraged Dustova to apply for senate again next semester.

Engle’s executive office members were present in the meeting as well, except vice president Bryan Kubel, she said.

They all plan to have a meeting with SGA adviser Jennifer Jones-Hall next week to discuss Dustova’s removal.

“We all would like to discuss and make decisions together,” Engle said. “But the final decision lies with me.”
