Self-defense classes are being offered at Ball State by the Martial Arts Club. They hosted the first seminar this week.

"We wanted to make sure it was available for people so they would be able to come in and learn to protect themselves," Kieran Anthony, club treasurer, said.

All students were invited to participate in the seminar held at the Jo Ann Gora Recreational Center. Students had a variety of reasons for attending.

"If I ever feel unsafe, it's probably because I'm out later than I should be, just walking around Muncie," Ryan Scheon said.

The martial arts club will be hosting self-defense seminars on Monday and Wednesday nights from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. in room 312 at the recreational center.
