Ball State improves to 5-2 with road victory over Cleveland State

The Ball State women's tennis picked up a 6-1 road victory over Cleveland State on Sunday to improve to 5-2 on the season.

The win was the Cardinals' third straight, and first road victory of the season.

Ball State picked up the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. The Cardinals also won five out of six singles matches.

In doubles, junior Courtney Earnest and sophomore Rosalinda Calderon picked up a 6-1 win at No. 1. Junior Bethany Moore and senior Courtney Wild earned a 6-2 victory at the No. 2 spot.

Wild also claimed a three-set victory at No. 1 singles over Victoria Bensimon. Earnest dominated her opponent in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Toni Ormond and Moore won in three sets, while Calderon earned a 6-1, 7-5 win.

The Cardinals have a week before they return to the court for a road matchup with Cincinnati at 1 p.m.
