The MLK Series Speaker scheduled to kick off Unity Week has been canceled.

Marc Lamont Hill was originally scheduled to speak at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in Pruis Hall.

Ball State’s Communication Center sent out an email Thursday afternoon stating that the speaker was canceled due to a scheduling conflict.

Hill’s lecture was going to focus on the struggling misconceptions of today’s youth, acknowledging that they are rich with resources rather than social burdens and play an essential role in American society, according to Ball State’s website.

This will be the 35th annual Unity Week, created to unite the Ball State community. All events are open and free to Ball State students, faculty, staff and the community of Muncie.
