Three days after announcing state-run news service JustIN, Gov. Mike Pence is terminating the project.
In a memorandum to all state agency heads on Thursday afternoon, Pence said, "However well intentioned, after thorough review of the preliminary planning and careful consideration of the concerns expressed, I am writing to inform you that I have made a decision to terminate development of the JustIN website immediately."

The taxpayer-funded news source would have included feature stories written by the government’s press secretaries. It would have also broken news ahead of traditional news outlets, according to documents obtained by the paper.
Pence planned to use the website to have press releases available in one location, instead of having the media and consumers look through multiple sources.
In the memo, he explained that the Office of Information Technology will update the current public calendar website so that it includes all press releases. He directed all state agency heads to work with the Office of Information and Technology to ensure that all press releases and public meeting notices are posted on the website.
