Many people questioned junior Natasha Rollings, a pre-veterinary major, when she registered for sign language courses at Ball State. After working in a veterinary office for multiple summers, she realized a problem—so many deaf customers would come in and no one could communicate with them.
Learning basic sign language phrases has helped Rollings work towards her future goal of being a veterinarian. She shows basic phrases in American Sign Language, a skill that can complement any major.
