Former Ball State pitcher T.J. Weir has been drafted by the San Diego Padres with the 12th pick in the 17th round of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
As a starter, Weir finished the 2014 season with an 8-2 pitching record, a 3.61 earned-run average, as well as a save. The 117 strikeouts he tallied was the ninth most in the country.
Weir is the first of three former Cardinals who are hoping to hear their names called today.
