The university took home eight regional Emmy Awards on Saturday night. Projects from the Virginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry and Ball State Sports Link earned a few Emmys as well as others from the university.

Students created a documentary about food on a global scale in “Down to Earth: Small Farm Issues in a Big Farm World.” The immersive learning course focused on Kyle Becker, a farmer from Mooreland, Ind., and the importance of buying local food.

Ball State’s Sports Link won a few awards, including one for “Finding Refuge.” This piece is about Mading Thok from the men’s basketball team, a junior center born in South Sudan.
