After losing four players to graduation and another two to transfer, the Ball State men’s basketball team is adding a player to the roster.
Forward Ryan Weber is transferring from Youngstown State to play at Ball State.
Weber was a sophomore last season and will redshirt for his mandatory one-year sit out period, leaving him two years of eligibility with the Cardinals.
Weber was a major contributor last season with the Penguins, starting 28 games and averaging 33 minutes per game.
“Ryan had a great season at Youngstown State and has proven he can produce at a high level in college,” Ball State head coach James Whitford said in a press release. “He has improved so dramatically over the past two years, and we feel he has the right work ethic and the right talent to become an even better player than he is already.”
He was second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.2 points per game on 43.4 percent shooting. He was the team’s best three-point threat, hitting 68 threes on 41.7 percent from behind the arc.
Weber joins junior college signee Bik Gill and recruits Francis Kiapway, Sean Sellers, Jeremie Tyler and Rashaun Richardson as new additions to the team.
