INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police have arrested a 16-year-old youth in connection with the slaying of a 24-year-old Indianapolis man who was fatally shot while on a pre-dawn walk.
Police say the youth was arrested Tuesday in connection with the April 1 slaying of Nathan Trapuzzano on the city's west side.
Police say the youth was being held at the Marion County Juvenile Center. They say he's recovering from a gunshot wound he received during an incident on the same day as the Trapuzzano shooting.
Donations totaling more than $130,000 poured in for Trapuzzano's pregnant widow in the days following the slaying.
