Band played old hits, new songs

Rock band REO Speedwagon took over John R. Emens Rock band REO Speedwagon took over John R. Emens Auditorium Friday night.

The Easthills opened for REO Speedwagon’s performance with songs from their debut album, “Death Of A Salesman.”

REO played hits from earlier decades as well as some newer songs from their 2007 album, “Find Your Own Way Home.”

Blair Ballestero of Muncie said he was surprised the band was still playing the same way they did more than 30 years ago.

“They performed extraordinarily given how long they have been around,” Ballestro said.

At the end of the performance a Fender guitar signed by the band was given away in a free raffle and donations were collected for Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana.
