Students smash computers as fundraiser

The Computer Technology Student Organization hosted their fall tech bash fundraiser today between Emens Auditorium and Pruis Hall.

Alec James, a junior computer technology major working at the event, said part of the proceeds will go toward the organization to pay for competitions, as well as for equipment the group needs.

The Computer Technology Student Organization is a student group that looks at expanding knowledge of information technology and its role in society. This year they will participate in a cyber security challenge and the ITERA case study challenge.

Nathan Ferrise, a senior art major, said the event is a good way to vent frustration in a safe environment.

“I think it is a great opportunity to let out some frustration but not hitting people you like or the people you love,” Ferrise said.

The event took place from noon to 4 p.m. Participants could take three swings for $2. James said the organization hopes to host the event again in the spring.
