Freshman Keegan McKinney was named Mid-American Conference golfer of the week after last weekend’s tournament.
McKinney tied for 17th place last weekend in the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate tournament hosted in Carmel. There were a total of 75 players in this year’s tournament.
McKinney shot a 224, 8- over par in the 54-hole tournament. He was the top finisher of three MAC schools. The tournament consisted of 17 teams that are in the top 100 in the Golfstat National. Six of those teams are in the top 50.
This is the second top-25 finish for McKinney. The Crooked Stick Intercollegiate was the men’s golf team’s fifth tournament this year. Ball State’s next and final tournament of the season will be right outside Atlanta in Kennesaw State’s Pinetree Intercollegiate.
