Village prepped for construction

A Garmong Construction truck parked on the Cardinal Square site means progress for the Village Square parking garage, the first phase of the Village redevelopment project.

“It’s coming up next week. We’re getting our permit today and we’re going to start foundations here shortly,” said Zacree Sheese, superintendent at Garmong Construction.

Now that city contractors have finished preparing the ground at the site, excavation for the foundation has begun.

“Right now we’re looking at finalizing our [subcontractors], but the biggest thing is the concrete and the pre-cast,” Sheese said.
