Three things to take away from Ball State’s 51-20 win over Eastern Michigan

The Daily News

1. Jahwan Edwards’ return sparks running game

After missing two games with concussion-like symptoms, the return of junior running back Jahwan Edwards did not disappoint Ball State fans. Edwards rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries, but added three touchdowns. On his first touchdown, the Eastern Michigan University defense looked to have bottled him up at the line of scrimmage. Edwards pushed forward and broke through to the end zone.

2. Defense forces turnovers

A week after the offense committed four turnovers, Ball State’s defense forced four turnovers in the game. Eastern Michigan fumbled the ball three times, and quarterback Tyler Benz threw one interception to safety Martez Hester. The four turnovers forced was a season-high for Ball State.

3. Jordan Williams has career day

Without senior Connor Ryan (thumb) and sophomore KeVonn Mabon (collarbone), sophomore wide receiver Jordan Williams continued his breakout season with four catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns. The two touchdowns were end zone fades from senior quarterback Keith Wenning, one from more than 30 yards away.
