The men’s and women’s golf teams got their seasons underway over the weekend after months of inactivity.
The men’s team played in the Northern Intercollegiate, which is hosted by the Mid-American Conference’s Northern Illinois in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Ball State finished sixth out of 15 teams in the invitational with a score of 891, or 27-up.
The Cardinals’ junior McCormick Clouser was the best-scoring player on his team, finishing at 3-up for the day.
Senior Tyler Merkel finished at 4-up for the day.
Also featured in the invite were Big Ten schools Ohio State and Indiana University.
University of Central Florida finished first in the invitational.
The women’s team began play at the Redbird Invitational on Sunday. The team was tied for third place at 10-up, with Toledo leading.
Play will conclude today.
