Today


Ball State sports are having a white-out day to get ready for the first football game of the season at home against Illinois State. 

They are encouraging students to wear white in support of their effort to “white-out the Redbirds,” according to a university email.


Graduate assistants of the Community Center for Vital Aging are hosting a presentation giving information on Social Security, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act. 

The program, which begins at 2:30 p.m., will feature Karrie Parideck and Debbie Barry from Congressman Luke Messer’s office, according to a press release. It will take place in the community center of Cambridge Square Senior Apartments.

Sunday


Each Sunday for the month of September, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is free for full-time or part-time Indiana college students. Online college students are included. 

Jeffrey Patchen, president and CEO of the children’s museum, said in a press release they are offering this deal because higher education institutes help them as they design and prepare their exhibits.

A few of the exhibits available include Avatar: The Exhibition, Dinoshere, Planetarium and Fireworks of Glass.


Tuesday


The Masters Swimming Club is having their first practice at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Ball Gym pool. Coaches offer workouts tailered for swimmers.

Affiliated program fees cost $75 each semester or $100 each semester for non-affiliates. They hold practices twice a week from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Wednesday


The deadline to sign up for some intramural sports is at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Out of 20 leagues and tournaments, flag football, sand volleyball and outdoor soccer registration ends first, according to a press release.

UPB is hosting Grocery Bingo Wednesday.

All students are welcome to play to win free groceries and appliances, among other prizes.

The event will be at 7 p.m. in the ballroom of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. Students can play for free with their ID.
