A police training exercise designed to simulate an “active-shooter” situation on
campus was held this morning at the Johnson A residential complex.
The exercise was staged by Ball State University Police Department and will
last throughout the day.
“You may hear gun shots from the use of blank ammunition and training rounds,”
said a public safety notice sent via email to campus on Monday.
Extra vehicles and officers from UPD as well as other law enforcement agencies
were in the area.
Safety officers monitored the training area closely.
