Ball State gymnastics defeated Eastern Michigan on Saturday to go 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The Eagles left the Cardinals with little room for error in a highly competitive match.
Ball State posted a team score of 194.075, edging out Eastern Michigan’s 193.975.
The team’s mark is the second-highest of the season for Ball State.
The Cardinals kicked things off on the bars, scoring 48.5 as a team. Junior Angie Hosbach led the team with score of 9.75. Freshmen Brooklyn Schumacher and Angela Durkac both scored 9.725.
Ball State then moved to the vault, where they posted a 48.625. Senior Nicole Allen led the team with a score of 9.8.
Next was the floor exercise, where the Cardinals posted a score of 48.775. Hosbach scored 9.8, to lead the Cardinals.
The Cardinals ended the night on the Beam with a score of 48.175. Junior Leah Wilson led the team with a 9.75.
Ball State will host Western Michigan at 7 p.m. next Friday in their annual Think Pink meet.
