After blowing a chance to knock of Purdue in West Lafayette on Tuesday, Ball State gets another chance at an in-state rival on Sunday.
The team plays IUPUI at 2 p.m. to try and win its first game against a Division I program from Indiana during nonconference play.
Ball State has lost its previous four games against Indiana State, IU, Butler and Purdue by an average margin of 23 points.
While the Cardinals hung with Purdue for most of the game Tuesday, Sunday’s contest against the Jaguars may be their best chance at a win.
IUPUI is 4-10 overall, with only two of those wins coming against Division I programs.
The two teams split the series last season, with Ball State winning the game in Muncie, 69-62.
The Jaguars have three players averaging double figures in senior John Hart (14.8 ppg), junior Mitchell Patton (14.4 ppg) and junior Ian Chiles (10.3 ppg).
