INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana utilities forecast slightly lower gas bills this winter if usage remains the same as a year ago.

Vectren North says its customers across about half of the state's counties will pay 5 percent less if they use the same amount of gas.

Northern Indiana Public Service Co. forecasts its typical gas customer will save a couple of dollars for the same amount of gas, The Times of Munster reported.

The Indianapolis Star says the typical Citizens Energy gas bill for Marion County residents will be about $20 less for the same amount of gas.

The U.S. Energy Information Agency predicted Wednesday that most U.S. households will use more energy for heat this winter because temperatures will be lower compared to last winter, which was abnormally warm.
