Western Michigan at Ball State, Saturday
This prediction would be much different if Western Michigan had a healthy Alex Carder running the offense on Saturday. Sure, Tyler Van Tubbergen played well last week, but that was against Massachusetts. He struggled against Toledo and Ball State will take advantage for its best defensive performance of the season.
Score: 28-17 Ball State
Navy at Central Michigan, Friday
Navy could show up and use its dominant clock control scheme to keep the Central Michigan offense off the field and out of rhythm. In years past, that would be a given. But Navy's rushing attack isn't as consistent as it was in years prior. Central Michigan will be able to send Navy away with its quick scores.
Score: 30-17 Central Michigan
Kent State at Army, Saturday
Kent State is way better than it was given credit for before the season started. Dri Archer is the real deal and Army won't be able to stop him. No one has yet. It doesn't hurt that Army has been struggling, but it did manage to beat Boston College last week. It's too bad its running attack can't keep Archer off the field in the return game, too.
Score: 24-20 Kent State
Toledo at Eastern Michigan, Saturday
Toledo is starting to click after a punishing win over Central Michigan last week. It's incredibly disappointing to see how far Eastern Michigan quarterback Alex Gillett has fallen. With Tyler Benz starting now, Toledo should prey on a inexperience signal caller.
Score: 37-14 Toledo
Akron at Ohio, Saturday
Picking Ohio games is getting pretty annoying because of how easy its schedule has been the last few weeks. It's going to remain that was for the foreseeable future as well. Ohio plays Akron, Miami, Ohio; Eastern Michigan; and Bowling Green in the next four weeks. The Bobcats will be ranked soon.
Score: 41-13 Ohio
Miami, Ohio, at Bowling Green, Saturday
This one will be close. Both teams are rather mediocre in the MAC and the winner of this game could build off of it when it begins facing tougher competition in the conference. Neither has really been tested yet by any of the better teams in the MAC in either division.
Score: 21-17 Miami, Ohio
Buffalo at Northern Illinois, Saturday
Buffalo nearly handed Ohio its first loss of the season while Northern Illinois came into Muncie and sent Ball State to below .500. Northern Illinois will be heavily favored in this game, but with the way Buffalo played against Ohio, it could surprise Saturday.
Score: 28-24 Buffalo
