Score: Clemson 25, Ball State 20
Ball State started off the second half and perhaps put together its most impressive drive of the game.
In just over three minutes, running back Horactio Banks made the most of his carries by posting runs of 28 yards and 21 yards on consecutive plays. The 21-yard run was Banks' second touchdown run of the game and gave him 121 yards on six carries in the game.

With mainly its second-string offense in the game, Clemson's first drive stalled before the offense could get into Ball State territory.
The two teams traded possessions without scoring any points that ate up clock from the third quarter. Ball State punter Scott Kovanda had another punt land inside the opposing team's 5-yard line that was downed at the Clemson 3-yard line.
Ball State kicker Steven Schott hit a 33-yard field goal, his second of the game, with 1:30 left in the third quarter to cut the lead to 45-20.
