NOBLESVILLE, Ind.- Former Indiana gubernatorial candidate Jim Wallace has been jailed on a felony domestic violence charge.
Wallace was being held in the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville on $5,000 bond following an initial hearing Monday.
Fishers police said Wallace was arrested Sunday night after allegedly grabbing his wife by the neck and throwing her against a wall at their home northeast of Indianapolis. She didn't require medical attention.
A message seeking comment was left on Wallace's cellphone.
The Indianapolis Star reported Wallace was arrested for intimidation during a dispute with an ex-wife in 2004. That charge was dismissed as part of a pretrial diversion program.
Wallace dropped his bid for the Republican nomination for governor in March after being denied a spot on the ballot for not having enough signatures.
