Ball State announced a student rewards plan in its continued effort to attract more students to home sporting events.
The plan announced is called Charlie's Crew Student Rewards Program and will allow students to use their Ball State student IDs to earn points for a chance to win prizes. The program is free for all students registered for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Each football game and men's basketball home game will be worth five points while students will earn 10 points for attending women's volleyball and women's basketball home games.
The prizes range from coupons to entry into a grand prize drawing where students will be participating in games for a chance to win bigger prizes. A drawing is also planned for all students that attend all five home football games for a chance to win free tuition for the Spring Semester. One student will be selected to attempt a field goal in the team's final home game to win the tuition.
The new plan is one of many to increase student attendance after Ball State hired Playbook Management International College to help increase ticket sales and revenue in the four sports participating in the student rewards program.
