LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Northern Indiana authorities say an infant has died days after being delivered following a car crash that killed a pregnant woman.
The Journal & Courier reported the Tippecanoe County Coroner's office confirmed the baby boy died Monday night.
Twenty-five-year-old Angelica Thrash of Lafayette was pregnant when her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic late Friday night and struck the rear tires of semi-trailer before crashing into a utility pole.
Thrash was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where emergency room personnel performed an emergency cesarean section after she was pronounced dead early Saturday.
Thrash's two children, ages 7 and 3, were in the car at the time of the crash but were not seriously injured.
