SOFTBALL: Ball State clinches MAC title with 6-0 win

Workman dominates in final start before MAC tournament

With an offense that leads the Mid-American Conference in so many categories, Ball State normally only needs its pitcher to hold opposing lineups to four or five runs.

But with the MAC regular season championship one win away senior pitch Audrey Workman(16-10) shut out Bowling Green in dominating fashion for the 6-0 Ball State victory. Workman allowed just three hits and kept under control throughout the game by allowing one walk.

Ball State has now won three of the last four MAC regular season titles. The win also clinched the No. 1 seed for the Cardinals and allows the luxury of a double-bye in the MAC tournament.

The Cardinals were able to get the scoring started with one run in the bottom of the second and third innings before bursting for four runs in the fourth.

Ball State finishes its regular season with senior day Sunday at 1 p.m. The team will then be looking ahead to the MAC tournament beginning Wednesday.
