WOMEN'S TENNIS: Ball State falls to Eastern Michigan 5-2

Losses continue to pile up for the Cardinals

The Ball State women's tennis team took yet another tumble in conference play Friday afternoon as it fell to Eastern Michigan, 5-2

The Eagles took the doubles point after beating each of the three teams 8-3.

The only two points from the Cardinals were freshman Courtney Wild and senior Sarah Hebble. Wild, at the No. 1 singles spot, beat Nino Mebuke 6-4, 6-4.

Hebble beat Mariya Toncheva 6-1, 6-4.

Freshman Ashlyn Rang was close to beating her opponent, but lost 7-5, 2-6, 6-4.

Also coming close to a victory was Kristel Sanders, but Miriam Westerink beat her in the end 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

Ball State will conclude the road stretch of the season when it faces Toledo on Saturday at 1 p.m.
