Ball State's win over Ohio State on Sunday received appropriate attention from the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association office this week, as the team swept the conference awards.
Junior outside attacker Greg Herceg was named the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week for his career-high performance on Sunday, picking up 22 kills of 51 attacks to record a .255 attack percentage.
Herceg has started Ball State's last 10 matches as the team's right-side attacker. He's hitting .154 this season and has set a new career-high in kills in three of the last four matches.
Sophomore middle attacker Matt Leske was awarded the title of MIVA Defensive Player of the Week. He controlled the net defensively against Ohio State to finish with a career-high 12 blocks.
Leske is holding onto the No. 1 spot in the MIVA's blocking rankings with a 1.27 blocks per set average. He averages 1.57 blockers per set in league play, also leading the MIVA.
